A McKinney Life Insurance Agency That Starts With What You Have

Many people who reach us already own a policy through work, an earlier agent or a parent. We read it first. If it still fits, we tell you to keep it, and we only suggest a new policy when your goals and the numbers clearly point that way.

Agent in a light blue button-down takes notes on a yellow legal pad while a couple reviews a chart on a laptop at a small dark conference table in an office.

Why we look at your current coverage first

Life insurance is sold far more often than it is explained. Plenty of people replace a perfectly good policy because someone earned a commission on the new one. They can give up years of built cash value, start a new contestability period, or lock in a higher premium priced on an older age.

We work the other way around. Before we quote anything, we go over what you already own: the face amount, who is named as beneficiary, when a term policy ends, which riders are attached, and how the cash value in a whole life or universal life policy has been building. Sometimes the fix is small, like updating a beneficiary after a marriage or layering a modest term policy on top of coverage you want to keep.

Other times a new policy really is the better answer. A term policy that runs out in a few years, a universal life policy whose premiums no longer keep it funded, or coverage that never matched your mortgage and income are good reasons to change. When that happens, we lay out why in plain numbers, side by side, and the decision stays yours.

How we work with you

  • We read before we quote

You sign nothing on the first call. We ask what you have, what you want it to do for your family, and then we look at the actual policy pages together.

  • Keep, adjust or replace, with reasons

Every recommendation comes with the reason behind it. If keeping your policy costs you less over time, we say so, even when it means we write nothing new.

  • No pressure to apply

You can take a quote, think it over and talk with your spouse or a financial advisor. We set no deadline on our end. A choice you have had time to weigh is usually one you stay happy with.

  • Beneficiaries checked every time

Outdated beneficiary lines cause more trouble for families than almost anything else in a policy. We confirm names, percentages and contingent beneficiaries whenever we review your coverage.
